Colleen Snydeman, PhD, RN, executive director of the Office of Quality, Safety, Informatics, Practice, Center for Innovation in Care Delivery, and director of the Yvonne L. Munn Center of Nursing Research within the department of Nursing & Patient Care Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is also the Connell-Jones Endowed Chair in Nursing and Patient Care Services. She currently has a research grant from CRICO, The Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions Incorporated for her patient safety study entitled: Predictive analytics combined with computer visualization enhances patient safety and eases nurse burden for preventing falls.

Dr. Snydeman is dedicated to delivering safe, evidenced-based, high quality patient care through the continuous improvement of practice and positive outcomes with a focused commitment to safety and well-being of the workforce, as foundational to our safety culture. Dr. Snydeman’s mission is executed through collaborations with her teams, leaders, department, and system to advance nursing science, innovation, and inquiry. This mission continues to be accomplished by leveraging philanthropic generosity, grants, and collaborative agreements that stimulate our nursing community to generate new nursing knowledge, innovative ideas, quality-improvement, advance evidence-based nursing practice and improve patient outcomes.

Dr Snydeman is a director on the Board of National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP), co-chair of the NPIAP Clinical Excellence Mission Committee, and a director on the Board of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Prevention of Medical Errors. Colleen also serves on the American Nurses Association Enterprise Research Advisory Council and the National Quality Forum Healthcare Professionals Stakeholder Advisory Panel.
